A series of diplomatic meetings at the Grand Serail

Prime Minister, Najib Mikati, on Tuesday held a series of meetings at the Grand Serail, and skimmed through an array of diplomatic, political, and developmental affairs with his itinerant visitors.
Premier Mikati respectively met today with the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia Ali Awad Asseri, Russia Alexander Zasypkin, and Japan Koichi Kawakami.
He later received the Director of Iranian state-run news agency IRNA, Ali Akbar Javanfekr, who told reporters following the meeting that talks featured high on the Lebanese-Iranian bilateral ties and cooperation, namely on the level of power production and electricity generating.
"Considering the brotherly relations which link the Islamic Republic of Iran and Lebanon, we, in Iran, on the governmental and popular levels, deplore the condition of Lebanon as to electrical energy; this drives us to speed up steps so as to present all the constructive projects aimed to help on this level and to contribute to bringing back electricity to its normal course," he indicated.
Besides, he said that the meeting also touched on most recent political developments in the Mideast region.
Javanfekr, who is also the media advisor of the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, underlined that the Islamic Republic indeed believes that political reforms in the structure of the ruling regime in Syria must be certainly made.
But he said that calm, stable, and adequate atmosphere should be provided in counterpart so as to bring these reforms into effect.
The Iranian official did not fail to lambast some states for bidding to exacerbate the crisis in the unrest-swept nation.
"Accordingly, countries which are friends of Syria, such as Iran and Lebanon, must beef up coordination so as to contribute to solving the crisis therein," he said.
Separately, the Minister of Telecommunications, Nicolas Sehnawi, had also been to the Grand Serail today, for a meeting with the Prime Minister over relevant ministerial affairs.
Mikati later received a delegation of Al-Jarrah Scouts Association, headed by Issam Ali Hassan, with talks featuring high on the current general situation on the Lebanese domestic scene.
Among the Grand Serail's itinerants today, had also been a delegation of Doniyeh municipalities union, headed by Mohammad Saadiyeh.
Talks reportedly touched on a spectrum of vital projects in the aforesaid region.
Mikati later met with a delegation of Jamaa Islamiyah, comprised of Abdullah Babti, Azzam Al-Ayoubi, and Nazem Menqara.
The Prime Minister also held a meeting with former Deputy, Mosbah Al-Ahdab.
Besides, the Prime Minister met this evening with Member of Parliament Sami Gemayel, who said today's visit to the Grand Serail was to thank Premier Mikati for the positivity he had shown vis-a-vis Saturday's demonstration by Kataeb and National Liberal parties.
